Heidi Last Part

In the last part, we learned that Heidi was very excited to go on a journey to the mountain with Clara. Early the next morning, Uncle made sure the weather was clear for the journey and, after being satisfied, pushed Clara’s chair out of the shed. Soon after, Peter arrived. He was already angry because Heidi was no longer paying attention to him and was spending all her time with Clara. In a fit of fury, and seeing that no one was around, he pushed Clara’s chair down the slope. When Peter saw it rolling away, the chair was completely destroyed. Peter was overjoyed by his action, believing that Clara would now be unable to go with Heidi. Will Peter’s action prove fruitful for him? How will Heidi react when she cannot find the chair? What will Uncle do to take the children up the mountain? Will Peter feel ashamed or frightened by what he has done? But when her father explained that staying could badly affect Heidi’s health, and promised to take her to Switzerland, Clara accepted the decision. She then quickly helped pack a beautiful trunk filled with clothes and gifts for Heidi, including twelve soft white rolls for grandmother. How did Heidi react when she heard about her journey back home? Who accompanied Heidi to the hills? How will the grandfather react when he sees Heidi? Their watch took a dramatic turn when, shortly after midnight, they saw the front door slightly open and a white figure standing at the top of the steps. After breakfast, she went to the study room with Clara, as the tutor had arrived. Soon after, a loud noise was heard, which made Fraulein Rottenmeier rush into the study, where she found a great mess, but Heidi was nowhere to be seen. Clara was a thin and pale girl who spent most of her time on a couch that was wheeled from one room to another.
