Little Girl Afraid of a Dog

Emmeline was a little girl who lived with her mother and her Aunt Martha. They always liked to help the poor Ticknors family by giving them eggs for their children. Both her mother and aunt wanted Emmeline to perform this good deed by taking the eggs to them. However, although she always gave her consent, she would turn pale at the thought of doing the task. The main reason behind her fear was the Ticknors’ dog, Spotty, of whom poor Emmeline was terribly afraid.
