Chiragh Hasan Hasrat (1904-1955)

Hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, Chiragh Hasan Hasrat was a Pakistani Urdu poet, critic, and essayist. A leading figure of modern Urdu non-fiction, he is known for his columns he wrote under the pseudonym of “Sindbad-Jahazi”. He also wrote literary criticism and translations۔ His work reflects the literary, cultural, and journalistic concerns of the subcontinent in his time.
