Richard Connell was an American journalist, short-story writer, and screenwriter remembered chiefly for “The Most Dangerous Game.” Published in 1924, the story reverses the traditional hunt by making a skilled hunter the prey. Its suspense, moral tension, and examination of violence have made it an enduring classic of American short fiction.
