Rashid Jahan (1905-1952)

Dr. Rashid Jahan was a pioneering Urdu writer and a leading figure of the Progressive Writers' Movement. A physician by profession, she courageously addressed women’s health, patriarchy, and social inequity. Her contribution to the anthology Angarey played an important role in shaping modern Urdu fiction and feminist discourse.
