Joseph Martin Kronheim

Joseph Martin Kronheim (1810–1896)

Joseph Martin Kronheim was a German-born engraver, lithographer, and commercial colour printer who worked in Britain. Founder of Kronheim & Co., he became a licensed practitioner of George Baxter's colour-printing process and adapted it by using zinc blocks. His book illustrations and colour plates contributed notably to Victorian illustrated publishing.
