H. H. Munro (Saki) (1870–1916)

H. H. Munro, better known by the pen name Saki, was a British short-story writer and journalist celebrated for polished wit, irony, and darkly comic satire. His stories often expose the manners, class assumptions, and hypocrisies of Edwardian society through concise plots and unexpected turns. He was killed in France while serving in the First World War.
