قصہ لیو پولڈویز نامی شخص کا جس کی پیدائش ۱۹۰۰ء میں ویانا کے ایک یہودی  گھرانے میں ہوئی۔  انہوں نے   ۲۳  سال کی عمر میں ایک نو عمر صحافی کی حیثیت سے عرب دنیا میں تین سال گزارے ۔اسی قیام کے دوران  انہیں  براہ راست اسلامی  کتب اور قرآن پاک کے مطالعہ کا موقعہ ملا ۔مختلف اسلامی ممالک کے اسفار اور مسلمان مفکرین کو پڑھنے کے بعد ان کی سوچ میں نمایاں  تبدیلی واقع ہوئی جو ان کی قبولیت اِسلام کی وجہ بنی۔  لیو پولڈویز  اب محمد اسد بن چکے تھے ۔محمد اسد اپنی خود  نوشت ’دی روڈ ٹو مکہ ‘ جس کا اردو ترجمہ ’شاہ راہ مکہ ‘ کے نام سے کیا گیا  ،میں  اپنے  احوال بیان کرتے ہوئے لکھتے ہیں کہ کیسے  سورۃالتکاثر سے متاثر ہو کر انہوں نے اسلام قبول کیا ۔ اس کے بعد انہوں نے ہندوستان کا سفر کیا اور علامہ اقبال سے طویل نشستیں کیں ۔ ان  طویل نشستوں نے محمد اسدکی فکری تربیت میں اہم کردار اد ا کیااور وہ تحریک ِ پاکستان  سے وابستہ ہو گئے  ۔ پاکستان قائم ہونے کے بعد وہ  پہلے پاکستانی تھے جنہیں باقاعدہ پاکستانی شہریت دی گئی اور   پاکستان کا پہلا پاسپورٹ  ان کے لیے بنایا گیا   ۔آئیے اسلامی تاریخ کے اس بھولے بسرے کردار کے بارےمیں جاننے کے لیے   پڑھتے ہیں ۔
