In the desert town of Zafira, it hasn't rained for three whole years. The fountain is dry and the gardens have turned to dust. Then one morning, Ayaan hears a tiny sneeze from the bottom of the old well. Inside the bucket sits Puff, a little cloud who fell from Mother Cloud during a storm. Puff is too small to fly home alone, but if Puff can reach the top of the Cloud Mountains, Mother Cloud will know that Zafira needs rain. With Baba Karim's brass compass and a flask full of water, Ayaan sets off across the Great Dunes. He shades Puff from the blazing sun, hides from Old Scorch, the hot desert wind, and finds a sparkling crystal cave. But when Puff grows as small as a teacup, Ayaan must choose what to do with his very last sip of water. Ayaan and the Little Lost Cloud is a warm, beautifully illustrated adventure about kindness, friendship and giving to others, even when it's hard. Inside this book, you will find: A gentle desert adventure with a brave, kind boy. A lovable little cloud who needs help getting home. A simple lesson about sharing and caring for friends. A loving bond between a boy and his grandfather. Rich, colourful full-page illustrations on every page. A happy ending with rain, flowers and a rainbow. A lovely read-aloud for children ages 3–7, and a thoughtful gift for any little one who is learning that a kind heart is the best map of all.
