The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Part 7

The Tin Woodman finished building the raft, and the five travelers set off across the river. But when they reached the middle, the swift current carried the raft farther away from the yellow brick road. To push it back, the Scarecrow pressed so hard on his pole that it stuck fast in the river mud, and before he could pull it free, the raft drifted away, leaving the poor Scarecrow clinging helplessly to the pole. While he was left behind, the others somehow managed to reach the shore. Will the Scarecrow remain stranded in the middle of the river, or will his friends find a way to rescue him? And later, why was the Tin Woodman so anxious not to linger in the deadly poppy field? Read this thrilling part to find out!
