After walking for a long time, Pinocchio, along with the Fox and the Cat, reached the inn of the Red Craw-Fish. The Fox suggested that they eat and rest there for a while before resuming their journey. Although the Fox and the Cat said they had no appetite, they ate a great deal of food. Pinocchio, however, ate the least. He asked for some walnuts and a hunch of bread, which he hardly touched. Afterwards, they went to their rooms to sleep so that they could wake up at midnight and continue their journey toward the Field of Miracles. But at midnight, the host came to Pinocchio and told him that his companions had already left. What will Pinocchio do? Is the host also a partner of the Fox and the Cat? Will Pinocchio go to the Field of Miracles alone? Why did the ghost of the Talking Cricket come to Pinocchio? Read this interesting part to find out whether Pinocchio listens to the Cricket’s advice or not.
